WINDLESS SAIL
by Gener
Thou love begot a dreamer’s soul
In moonless nights and winter’s cold
In spellbound days and summer joys
And stole the pain imbed so long.
Thy seed of hope fed a bird’s embrace
Thy lily’s hair gleamed a broken wall
In tone deaf silence I shall mourn
The cold stone ring of thy bitter words
My walks in paths build no more steps
Down the guiless streams and ponds no lead
The drift shall pierce deep in the heart
Broken body sails in windless flight.
